Captain Daves In Destin Florida is a favorite restaurant for many and seems to have been around since before Destin existed. It has actually been serving wonderful seafood right on the waterfront for over 30 years.
Located on Scenic Highway 98, about three miles west of Sandestin, Captain Daves is the oldest seafood restaurant in Destin. The food is usually very good and the dining room view overlooking the white beaches and Gulf of Mexico have made it a favorite for many families vacationing in Destin over the years.
A couple of their specialties include the Grouper Ponchatran, which is grouper topped with a fried soft shell crab in sweet basil bearnaise sauce and sprinkled with honey roasted almonds, and the Snapper Dijon, a broiled fillet of red snapper with golden fried shrimp in a Dijon mustard lemon butter sauce.
The dining is casual and you'll be waited on by a friendly staff serving some of the freshest seafood along the coast. Reservations are not required but you may want to call ahead of time as the wait can sometimes be a little longer than you wish.
If you're not sure what to order and would like some advice, try their Mahi Mahi or stuffed grouper, both of which are always very good.
